Poison (Reiner Knizia's Poison)
From the Publisher...
The mad doctor has cooked up something evil in Reiner Knizia's Poison, a clever strategy card game. Players choose a potion card from their hand to add to one of three colored cauldrons, being careful not to let the pot go over a total value of 13.
The player who causes the cauldron to go over 13 must take all of the cards within it,
trying to avoid taking a potion mixed with poison.
Be the player with either the most or none of any potion and you're safe -
otherwise take the risk of receiving a deadly dose!

|3 Cauldrons, potions of varied colours with numbers. You drop the same coloured potions into the cauldrons and you take them when you get to score 13 or more.
The Catch: you want to get the least amount of points possible per colour potion. You can discard all the potions of one colour if you have the most potions of that colour.
Catch 2: You have poison potions that you can drop into any cauldron. Even if you have the most of them, you cannot discard them.
There are 3 rounds. Whoever scores the least wins!
Easy game to learn. Can be taught to anyone who can do simple math. Lasts about 30-45 mins depending on the number of players.
Played this game at family gatherings and on holidays. Perfect for interim periods before something else has to happen.
|I'm a big fan of EVERY Reiner Knizia game I've ever played, but this one is fun for kids of all ages. This game is a great game for intense gamers and casual gamers alike and can be quickly played (perfect for game nights when you need something to fill a little time while you're waiting for others to finish their games.) If you can count to thirteen, this game will make your lucky day.
|This game reminds me a bit of "Category 5" in that you are (generally) trying to avoid taking stacks of cards and getting points. However, Poison adds a few twist and actually gives more control to the players by including poison cards and by giving each player a huge hand of cards to begin with. It is a very nice and fast game that can be played with anyone, including non-gamers.
