This game is actually very addictive once you get into it. High tension builds up progressively and will reach a climax when more than one player is one chip away from victory. You can start to see players taking side with each other, giving ideas for support and screw-the-king with the right group. I really have great fun with it.
Ivanhoe may be a game that's overlooked, but it should not be. My friends and I have had many slobber-knockers that leave us exhausted and dozens of tactical battles that leave us second-guessing each other. For a lighter game, it plays deep and strategy in your card play and weapon (color) changes is key. For a rousing joust, swordfight or fisticuffs, nothing is more fun than this (gotta love that "Break Lance" card). The box is also a treat and gives you insight into all the pertinent characters in the Ivanhoe saga.
