Following the success of the first Three 4 $5.00 collection

It's time for Volume 2!

For $5.00 you get a CD that contains three different Print-and-Play games and a short movie.

First, the B&W games...

The three games below are found on the CD as files in pdf format.  The game files contain the rules and special components required to play.  You'll have to print and cut out a few pages for each game to get the cards and tokens required.  Additional items (such as chips or pencils) may needed for each one too.  So, yes, there's a little more work involved for preparation.  But that's why you get three games for only $5!

Here are the details for each one.

Bedlam:  The Countdown

This is a resource management and negotiation game set in the dark future.  Most simply, it's an auction game where the characters you buy provide the options you'll have for actions on your turn.  Instead of using the usual approach with character based card games--when cards refer to broad classes of characters such as "thief" or "wizard"--the cards in Bedlam refer to specific characters and they give the game an excellent sense of narrative.  Prepare for some surprises, some backstabbing and plenty of tough decisions.

I know that, as the game's creator, my own opinion doesn't count for much.  I have to say this is my favorite game of all that I have created.  I'm glad to be able offer it for the first time in this form.  I trust expansions and other editions will follow as more people discover the simple system and explore the possibilities it offers.

The game is for three to five players and it can be completed in 45- 60 minutes.  You'll need to print and cut out about 50 cards, a player sheet for each player and some counters (if you don't want to use poker chips or other tokens).

Important Note:
If you purchased this CD before 8/11/08 there is a slight error in the Bedlam components.  The four cards on page 11 of that edition are not sized correctly.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  You can download the correct graphics for that page here:

One Million Words

If a picture's worth a thousand words, how many can be generated by two?  Well, throw in a group of creative friends along with the two pictures and you'll have more than a million words.  There will be plenty of laughs as well in this highly entertaining, terribly simple game.

I worked for over a year on several games in a general framework we originally called the Creativity System.  My favorite game in the system was probably the cartoon game.  I have taken the core of that game, added a simple tool to help spark some creativity and I offer it here as One Million Words.

Three to eight players can enjoy this game and it takes 20 to 45 minutes to complete.  You'll need several slips of paper and a marker (or anything to write with) for each player.  The printed part of this game consists of four pages of graphics you'll print (and draw on) each time you play.

Im-Bi-Bo

This is my simple, abstract game of strategy for two.  It was designed to be played in a coffee shop, but you can enjoy it anywhere.  Each turn players place cards on a small board hoping to pick up stones and, at the same time, control the value of those stones so they'll have the most points at the end of the game.

This game is for two players only.   The components are in color and they fit on four sheets of cardstock.

Then the B&W movie...

Along with three fun games you'll also get this short Black & White Movie (in full color, no less) in Windows Media File format:

Play Eurogames

Yes, I created this with a home video camera.  It's a tribute to the many games my family and friends have enjoyed over the years.  It's also an attempt to produce a complete music video with very little talent on my part.  It's got music, acting, tons of game references and, best of all, dancing meeples.

Don't get your hopes up.  Check out the preview and commercial on YouTube instead.

Note that Play Eurogames is based on the song, Holiday, by Green Day.  We changed the lyrics and tried to play it ourselves.

The song, by itself (in mp3 format), is included on the CD as well.

You'll find a few other materials on the CD as well.  Additional materials are subject to change, but may range from blatant advertisements for my other games to musings about life and my wife.

You can buy the collection on CD from from Fair Play Games.

The B&W Games Blanket Project
All money we make from this CD collection goes to help individuals and families in need.  Currently I.D.E.S.is the main organization we support.  They are working all over the world helping those who have suffered from natural disasters.
