Killer babies! Baby dinosaurs, that is. In Evo, you play a geneticist that manipulates the traits of his or her dinosaurs in order to survive, but they all die in the end when the asteroid hits, so what's the point of this game...? Make your dinosaurs live as long as possible by moving them to a specific climate area. Game play involves fighting other players dinosaurs for territory. Graphics are amazing and the game pieces are well-made. You should probably just buy this game for the dinosaur meeples. Ha ha.

I picked up this game just because its been hard to find forever, and I was extremely impressed with the gameplay beyond any of my expectations! The crux of this game is the climate track. During each turn, the climate has a 4/6 chance of progressing forwards, 1/6 chance of staying the same, and a 1/6 chance of actually moving backwards. The effect of this is that the already limited board space becomes even more cramped as each player scrambles to find a safe location to rest their dinos for the turn. This crush leads to conflict, which will largely be resolved based on how you have been able to develop the genes of your dinos up to that point. Over the course of the game, you have the opportunity to sculpt and change your dinos which leads to some interesting different strategies that you can employ. To date, I have been beaten by 4-legged dinos that pumped out babies like nobody's business, by a 3 horned fur-toting monstrosity, and by a dinos that could weather any climate due to their abundance of fun and umbrellas! There are many ways to go about this game, but you have to know your own strengths and limitations.

A great game to introduce to new gamers of all ages. Easy to learn, fun to play, and with appealing and amusing pictures.

Evo is a game of evolving dinosaurs by Euro Games. In this game, players have to evolve their dinosaurs to cope with ever changing climatic conditions. The evolutions are obtained by bidding against other players for them, and contain evolutions such as fur, extra legs, egg laying capabilities, etc. The player able to best keep his dinosaurs from dying emerges as the victor! A really fun game of strategy that I highly recommend!
