Ticket to Ride   (View Game)
   Ryan

This game has such a quick and easy mechanic to learn, but its strategy is complex and interesting. It's a great game for 2 people that also works well with a larger group (up to 5).

Ninjato   (View Game)
   K
This is the first game I bought. I didn't know what to expect, but I could tell from the box the pieces were high quality (wooden ninja stars!) and the art style was amazing. Game play might take awhile to explain. With the scoring, it usually comes out pretty close in the end. There aren't too many moves to make (It's a worker placement game.) so you are forced to be strategic about your moves. The theme is well-developed and the mechanics keep one player from gaining too much of a lead.

Munchkin Booty   (View Game)
   K
I love it! It's another Munchkin, but pirate themed. And who doesn't love pirates? Watch out for sharks because some of them will eat you alive.

Grimoire   (View Game)
   K
Grimoire is a card drafting and set collection spell casting game. It is definitely worth the money to add it to your collection. Turn order is determined by which spells you cast and can mess with other players. If you are into the mystical, spell casting thing, it is a must.

Gloom   (View Game)
   K
Gloom is a depressing card game for up to 4 players. The cards are a transparent plastic design which allow for limitless combinations of hilariousness. I recommend it for a mature audience as it does involve killing off characters in horrible ways. The level of player interaction is higher than most games which is a definite plus.

Eco Fluxx (EcoFluxx v 1.2)   (View Game)
   K
Although this version is not as hilarious as others, it does focus on environmental themes. It follows the sames rules as the Fluxxes; the rules are the card you put down. I recommend it as a light party game.

Evo   (View Game)
   K
Killer babies! Baby dinosaurs, that is. In Evo, you play a geneticist that manipulates the traits of his or her dinosaurs in order to survive, but they all die in the end when the asteroid hits, so what's the point of this game...? Make your dinosaurs live as long as possible by moving them to a specific climate area. Game play involves fighting other players dinosaurs for territory. Graphics are amazing and the game pieces are well-made. You should probably just buy this game for the dinosaur meeples. Ha ha.

Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Boardgame   (View Game)
   K
Castle Ravenloft is an amazing cooperative role-playing game. Each person is assigned a different character and uses those stats to attack monstes and help the group. The goal is to gather treasures and leave before the monsters kill you. Believe me when I say they will kill you! The game is tough to win because monsters keep appearing all over the place. It is a 2-3 hour game, but extremely fun to play with friends. Recommended with 5 players.

Citadels - (Includes The Dark City Expansion)   (View Game)
   K
Citadels is an interesting card game where you take on different roles each round. These roles determine player order and have special powers. The goal of the game is to construct buildings which earn you points, but don't get too hasty because someone might tear it down. The only irritating thing is you might get killed or thieved from the entire game!

Carcassonne   (View Game)
   K
A classic board game played with your friendly colored meeples. This game focuses on tile placement strategies. The rules straight-forward, but calculating where to put your pieces is where the action takes place.

Betrayal At House On The Hill   (View Game)
   K
I've only played this once, but it is an amazing game. It starts off as cooperative and changes to all against one when the traitor arises. From what I've seen there are many scenarios that can make this replayable. The theme is excellent and the game is high quality with all the pieces you need.

Bohnanza   (View Game)
   K
Although I don't particularly like the theme or artwork of this game, I do enjoy the game play. It focuses on hand management and interactions with other players. You have to play cards from your hand in order unless you can make a deal with another player. Otherwise, it will destroy your score and you will be forced to clear out your bean field. I also like the idea that beans are finite and once a person has scored it changes the statistics for the game.

Blokus   (View Game)
   K
Blokus is a fun, quick game for all ages. It's like Tetris against other people and plays on spatial relationships. It has nice, translucent game pieces and a nice ridged board to keep the pieces from sliding around.

Apples to Apples   (View Game)
   K
Apples to Apples is a good party game for a group of 5-10 people. The game play is simple and can be played in a relaxed manner. It can be a hilarious and entertaining game for all.

A Game Of Thrones: The Board Game (Second Edition)   (View Game)
   K
A top-notch game. There are a lot of actions to take and many decisions to be made so it makes game play is unpredictable. It's a tough game to learn, but if you love the TV show or book series, it is worth your time. Each player represents a house and plays with their related characteristics.

Talisman (4th Edition)   (View Game)
   K
Talisman is definitely a long, adventurous game. The theme is well-developed and truly feels like a journey. Amazing artwork and nice character figures.

Shadows Over Camelot Expansion : Merlin's Company   (View Game)
   K
This expansion makes the game enough tougher, but if you don't play hard, go home! Sometimes, Merlin won't help you and the evil cards are even more terrible. It is a must if you already own Shadows Over Camelot.

Shadows Over Camelot   (View Game)
   K
A very hard game to win. I love the cooperative play. You must work together to win and sometimes kill yourself to defeat the traitor.

Small World Underground   (View Game)
   K
Better than the original! Again, the pieces are well made and the graphics are gorgeous. The added feature of treasures and ruins make this game even more enticing.

Small World Board Game   (View Game)
   K
Amazing monster civilization game. This should be on your gaming shelf! The pieces are well made and the graphics are gorgeous. The replay-ability of races is up with near limitless combinations.

Ticket to Ride   (View Game)
   K
Another train game! I've only played one train game though. The short and long term goals create intent on railroad building, but the passengers allow for extra points on the side. You never know who will win in the end.

Alhambra - English Edition   (View Game)
   K
Classic. Great tile placement and card management game. The scoring system is unique and allows points for 2nd and 3rd. The only confusing thing is having colors for the money and the building type. Simple game play allows for easy integration of new players.

Tsuro   (View Game)
   K
Quick tile game. Good for a filler or light game play.

Zooloretto   (View Game)
   K
Cute game of animal collection. Good for children and adults alike.

7 Wonders: Cities   (View Game)
   K
Adds another player to the game and some interesting twists. I especially like the abilities to put a player in debt and avoid battles.

Great game for a large group. Good for a filler and keeps everyone engaged with simultaneously action.

Cat Lovers Playing Card Deck   (View Game)

I love cats, and I love this deck of cards. My nephew recently got me a copy for my birthday! I've begun to carry a different kitty card in my purse every day.

Ticket to Ride: Alvin & Dexter Monster Expansion   (View Game)
   Victor Garrison
Thought this would spice up Ticket to Ride...Kids like it, Wife found it frustrating. I enjoyed it as a variant, but enjoy Ticket to Ride more w/out it.

Ticket to Ride   (View Game)

Third favorite family game as of 2013! I actually enjoy this more than Settlers/Catan but the rest of the family prefers Settlers. Game play is simple and length of play 45 mins - 1 hour is good for this game, though I may create a shorter house version for my wife who enjoys games more if they're under a 1/2 hour. Looking forward to getting the Nordic edition.

Settlers of Catan Board Game   (View Game)
   Victor Garrison
Second favorite family game. Bought this 3 years ago, my daughter was 7 and son 11. My daughter beat me and her brother nearly every game for 2 years. A great gateway game for non-gamers. Certainly hooked me into boardgames as a hobby.

Survive: Escape From Atlantis *ND   (View Game)
   Victor Garrison
Bought this for my daughter. Beautiful components and easy to play.

Felix: The Cat In The Sack   (View Game)
   Victor Garrison
This is a family favorite. Bought this for my daughter 2 years ago when she turned 8 and we have played this more than any other game in the house. Even my wife who doesn't care much for games enjoys this one. Whenever it is pulled off the shelf the whole family is certain to play it over and over for a couple hours.

Talisman: The Sacred Pool Expansion   (View Game)
   Trevor Pyke
The Sacred Pool is a strong expansion from the makers of Talisman 4th Edition at Fantasy Flight Games. One of the main strengths of this mini-expansion is that it adds a great deal of bonus Adventure cards and Spells that benefit those players of Neutral alignment. Prior to this expansion, players of Neutral alignment were mostly overlooked in favor of Good and Evil, but with this expansion they are better able to compete. In addition, the box adds a number of new mechanics for the Warlock's Cave location, including new Warlock Quests and win conditions. Overall, this is a strong expansion from Fantasy Flight Games.

Lionheart   (View Game)
   CarlG2
Lionheart is a wonderful introduction to tactical miniatures gaming. It is a simple game with a good amount of tactical depth and requires some hard choices to be made in order to defeat your opponent. Games can be played in a short amount of time and are always a lot of fun.

Blokus   (View Game)
   CarlG2
A fun strategy game for the whole family, Blokus seems simple at first but has a ton of depth. The great thing about it is that you'll think you are doing great and then your kid will sneak in a surprise win!

Battles Of Westeros Premium Banner Pack   (View Game)
   CarlG2
The core set and first expansions for Battles of Westeros had cardboard banners on top of plastic poles. They were functional but a little clumsy and just didn't do the awesome miniatures justice. These premium banners are truly a must have...full plastic with stickers for the house colors of Stark and Lannister...they are awesome!

Battles Of Westeros - Wardens Of The West Reinforcement Set   (View Game)
   CarlG2
If you're a Lannister fan, you must buy this expansion pack! It adds some wonderful new miniatures and cool new rules for catapults and other twists. Once you've gotten comfortable with the core game, you need to start picking up the expansions to add more variety and flavor!

Battles of Westeros - Wardens Of The North Reinforcement Set   (View Game)
   CarlG2
This expansion pack really fleshes out the Stark armies providing some interesting tactical opportunities. As with all of the Battles of Westeros expansions and the core game, the miniatures are top quality and the battles well-balanced.

Battles Of Westeros   (View Game)
   CarlG2
A tactical miniatures game set in the world of A Game of Thrones...what more could one ask for! The game system has tons of tactical depth, the miniatures are fantastic, and the scenarios/battles well designed. The core game is a must buy, although I'd recommend the Premium Banners to go with it. The miniatures take awhile to assemble but once you start playing you won't be able to stop!!!

Apples to Apples   (View Game)
   CarlG2
One of the best party games you could ever buy...it'll get gamers and non-gamers alike laughing hysterically! Fun, fun, fun!!!

A Game of Thrones LCG: Core Set   (View Game)
   CarlG2
The Living Card Game system from FFG is pure genius. No more do you have to buy loads of boosters to try to collect a set or get the cards you want...you get the full Core Set and can then customize and build a deck to suit your play style. I love it! The game system is fantastic (best with more than 2 players) and the artwork is gorgeous!

Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring Board Game   (View Game)
   CarlG2
A cool take on the quest to destroy the Ring of Power. After playing this a few times, and losing, you'll appreciate how hard it was for Frodo to make it to Mount Doom and seal Sauron's fate. It's a tough game system made all the more rewarding for the few times you actually win!

Last Night On Earth - The Zombie Game   (View Game)
   CarlG2
If you're looking for a zombie game with high quality components, a great game system, and awesome theme...you must buy this game! While it lacks the random board of a system like the Zombies games, it more than makes up for it with a superior game system and tons of character!

Heroscape Game Master Set   (View Game)
   CarlG2
The Heroscape game system is one with a ton of tactical depth but which even novice gamers can pick up and easily play. I highly recommend this game for both experienced gamers and as a medium to introduce tactical gaming to those more familiar with more traditional family boardgames.

DungeonQuest (Dungeon Quest)   (View Game)
   CarlG2
One of the hardest to "win" games you'll ever play, but you'll never have so much fun losing! The totally random game board, constant pressure to try to get some loot and flee before the dragon wakes, and great game mechanics mean that you will play this game again and again!

Age Of Conan Board Game   (View Game)
   CarlG2
A game of conquest set in the Hyborian Age of Conan the Barbarian. The game has a lot of strategic depth and the theme is enhanced by the unique character of the 4 playable kingdoms. It's too bad an expansion was never produced to flesh out the rest of Hyboria, though.

Space Hulk: Death Angel - The Card Game   (View Game)
   CarlG2
I didn't think a card game could capture the spirit of the Space Hulk board game, but Space Hulk: Death Angel - The Card Game successfully brings the tension, strategy, and all out fun of Space Marine vs. Genestealer battles. It is darn hard to win but it's a blast nonetheless!

Suburbia   (View Game)
   Susanna
I'm new to games and have played this game once but can't wait to play it again. I didn't catch on to everything with the keeping score and changing income/reputation but with the cheat sheet card that's given to every player I could have done it(had help from 2 other players) it was fun picking which tile to play and where to place it and cashing in when others played something that would work on my tile(my airport got me extra $ when someone else had 3 airports for instance) I happen to enjoy tiles so this is one I think I'll like more and more.

Saboteur   (View Game)
   Susanna
This game is awesome and so much fun! I'm new to games and played this with a group of 9 and I think all of us enjoyed us. It does take a lot of space but you're basically using cards to build mazes with turns (and blocks)most players are miners trying to get to the gold at the top(3 cards are upside down and one is gold) an the saboteurs(depending on number of players 1-3 I think - we had 3 in all 3 rounds but could have had 2 with an extra miner) special cards let you peek under one of the cards and other cards let you sabotage a miner or sabateur and also fix them(broken lattern, broken cart, etc) was simple to learn and fun to play

Husband and I played this game at a gaming convention and it was a lot of fun! We are adding it to our gaming wish list!
