This game was born when some game designers were sitting around a Scrabble board, and one of them really, REALLY wanted to change something already played. Everyone who's been frustrated and wanted more leeway and creativity during a Scrabble game should smile during their first game of Upwords. There isn't much else to say, however.

Similar to scrabble, but with an extra dimension. Stacking tiles on top of each other also provides a great way of learning new words for children, since it is easier than building the words from scratch.

Great word game in the line of Scrabble. Would recommend to any word-smith and/or family with kids.

What a great twist on Scrabble! Players draw tiles with letters of the alphabet on them and create words to place on the game board. The twist that makes it easier than Scrabble is that you can place new letters on top of existing letters in a word as long as it is playable in all directions (i.e. every word affected by the changed letter still spells out a real word). Another family favorite for us!

I love how you can change other people's words by building on top of them. This is something I've always wanted to do while playing regular scrabble.
