TransEuropa (Trans Europa) - with Vexation expansion   (View Game)
   Jon

Transeuropa is a fun, gateway train game. It has become one of the games I like to give as gifts to some of my family and friends who aren't as big into games as I am. But I enjoy playing it with them as well. It is a fun, accessible game that offers variety to Transamerica.

Zooloretto   (View Game)
   Jon
I picked this up because as mentioned it is a great family-themed game with quality components. I was surprised that it does have quite a bit of strategy underlying it. Like Coloretto there are some tough choices to make and I enjoy games like that. And there are cute, cuddly animals so what's not to love?

Guillotine   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a wacky, zany, but fun game. I love the theme and the fact that there are only a few duplicate action cards in the deck. Each play is different. It works well with two players but the tension just grows with more. Will the head you want still be in line by the time it is your turn again, or will your best laid plans be ruined? Fun game!

Alea Treasure Chest   (View Game)
   Jon
I would have bought this box for the cards to add to my favorite game, Notre Dame. They are a must have. It was well worth it as I did already have San Juan and Witch's Brew. I've since picked up In the Year of the Dragon and plan on getting Puerto Rico. All of the expansions for these games are very good and I highly recommend getting this even if you only own 2-3 of the titles.

Ticket To Ride Map Collection Volume 2 : India & Switzerland   (View Game)
   Jon
I love these new map collections for the TTR series! What a good way to get variety and more value out of the initial game. I already own the Switzerland map (and love it) but after playing the India side with a friend, I have to order it for myself. I like India for the loop bonuses and it adds a great layer of tension to the game. I suppose I'll give my Switzerland copy to a family member. This set is worth buying for just for the India side. And if you missed buying the original Swiss map then what are you waiting for?

Dixit 3: Odyssey   (View Game)
   Jon
This was the perfect buy for me as a game player and a collector. I loved the original Dixit game and the extra cards in Dixit 2. This game adds just as many cards but also new materials to support up to 12 people for scoring. I also liked that the box neatly fit all 3 games. Get this box to complete your game or start the collection.

Dominion: Hinterlands Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
Each new Dominion expansion box takes the game to a new level, adding a new twist and more depth. I like Hinterlands because there are so many cards that have triggered effects, something that happens when you buy it or when another player does something. I've combined this with the base game as well as other expansions and it plays great. Don't think you have enough cards with the other expansions. This is an essential addition to the set.

Jungle Speed: The Extreme Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
I loved the original game and highly recommend it. This expansion adds several more pattern "families" for variety and to allow for more people. Some of the new patterns are pretty challenging. I also like the new action cards with my favorite being the "hand stack." The person whose hand is on top of the totem first gives their cards to the last person to put their hand on the pile. Of course this assumes no one knocks the totem over. This is a great addition if you like Jungle Speed.

Piece o' Cake   (View Game)
   Jon
Whenever we play this game it always gets played again because people love it. It could be considered a filler game because it takes 15-20 minutes but I love the agonizing decisions to make. Think of the phrase, "I cut, you choose," and that describes the game. You have to divide up the cake so the pieces you want are still there since you have to choose last. I love the theme of the game and highly recommend it.

Ticket to Ride Map Collection Volume 1 : Asia   (View Game)
   Jon
I've always enjoyed Ticket to Ride but why would someone need another map? Because this one plays teams and it is so much fun! The rules restrict table talk between team players which ramps up the intensity and the fun level. Because 3 teams can play that means we finally have a Ticket to Ride game that 6 people can play. As others have mentioned, you also have a bonus map on the back. This is a good deal and a must have for a TTR fan.

Thurn & Taxis: for Power & Glory   (View Game)
   Jon
I love the original game and this expansion was a no brainer. Not only do you get a new map to play on but there is a new twist that can be implemented in the requirements to close a route. You have to have enough horses which come on the back of the city cards. You always use the original rules and enjoy a map that is a little bit more challenging than the original. If you like Thurn and Taxis then this is a must have.

Forbidden Island   (View Game)
   Jon
You've read the comparison to Pandemic and having owned that game first I would say there is a need for both in your collection. Forbidden Island has a great theme and is a bit easier to teach and set up. I enjoy this when I am more in the mood for a laid back game but have an itch for a co-op game.

7 Wonders: Leaders   (View Game)
   Jon
This expansion fits seemlessly with the base game. There aren't any hard rules to learn if you are familiar with the base game but it adds a layer of strategy and I think allows a player to refine his focus and plan more. It is a great addition that almost feels like it belongs to the game originally.

7 Wonders   (View Game)
   Jon
This game has fast become a favorite at our house. I like the card drafting mechanism as it sometimes calls for some tough decisions - what do I want and what do I not want to give to my neighbor. I like being able to specialize in a type of building and the different ways to build on what you already have. There are different paths to victory so you can try out different tactics each time.

Dominion: Prosperity   (View Game)
   Jon
If you've played Dominion before you have probably gotten the 7-coin hand before and been stuck between 6-cost and 8-cost cards. Now we have cards that cost 7, as well as a bigger treasure and a bigger victory point card. I also like the addition of point tokens. You can get points without clogging up your deck. As with other Dominion expansions, it adds a lot to the game and is worth getting.

Dominion: Cornucopia Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
I was beginning to think that all of these Dominion expansions were getting out of hand but each one adds something great to the game. I was surprised at how these new cards added a fresh twist to the game. My favorite is the Tournament card and the great Prize cards you can win with it. As with the other expansions, this is a must have.

Jaipur   (View Game)
   Jon
I am always on the lookout for good 2-player games because let's face it, the game groups don't get together often enough. I like to have games to pull out to play with my wife. We both enjoyed this from the first time we played it. It has quality components and is well balanced for a two person trading game. Probably my favorite 2-player because that's what it was designed to be.

Dixit 2   (View Game)
   Jon
I loved the original Dixit game and was very excited to get the new deck. The first time we pulled it out we realized how fun it was to have new pictures to make things fresh. I highly recommend this addition.

Stone Age   (View Game)
   Jon
This is quite possibly my favorite game. In turn order, each player chooses one place to put a worker or workers. There are some agonizing decisions to make which I think is what makes the game so good. My wife and I love to play it just the two of us and it worked very well. I am excited for the expansion coming soon.

El Grande - Decennial (10 year) Edition (Expansions Included)   (View Game)
   Jon
So I just discovered this game when a friend introduced it to me. I guess it has been a classic among gamers for many years and I would whole-heartedly agree. After one game to learn the rules we couldn't stop playing. It is a great game that really makes you pay attention to strategy.

Settlers Of Catan Board Game : 5-6 Player Extension   (View Game)
   Jon
The extension really makes the game more fun. It gives you the pieces to make a bigger board and two new colors. The thing I like most about playing with 5 or 6 players is the fact that you can spend resources in between everyone's turn, not just your own. I would recommend this to everyone who already has Settlers.

Settlers of Catan Board Game   (View Game)
   Jon
Settlers was the first modern game I played and I love it. It has some strategic elements, but luck plays a big part in it also. It is a fun game to play for a relaxing night with friends and easy to teach new people. My parents loved it and enjoy playing when they visit.

The Great Wall Of China   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great game and I would highly recommend it when it becomes available again. I love Knizia (maybe because I am a mathematician as well). This is a numbers game with some really tough choices. Place your soldiers on teh right piece of the wall to get the most points. Some of the soldiers have special abiltities but you can only play each card once. Great game - works well with 2 - 4 players.

Settlers Of Catan Board Game : Traders & Barbarians Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great collection of variations for Settlers of Catan. I ordered it because our group needed a change - the same person kept winning. These variations allowed us to try new things. We really liked the fisherman of Catan which you can mix with most of the expansions and variations. We also liked the event cards because it takes a bit of the randomness out fo the dice roll and lets your strategy unfold more naturally. It has been fun trying out al the variations and I love all of the new pieces. Good buy!

Settlers Of Catan Board Game : 5-6 Player Extension   (View Game)
   Jon
I love the bigger island. I confess that we always set up with the larger island now even with 4 players. We got used to the extra space and some of the people I play with aren't very confrontational so it works out. The game scales up nicely to 5 or 6 players and with the ability to build after each person's turn, the game still moves along at a good pace.

Settlers Of Catan Board Game : Cities & Knights   (View Game)
   Jon
When I say "Let's play Settlers," I always mean with the Cities and Knights expansion. It is usually the same when people ask me if they can play it. Cities and Knights was the perfect expansion to Settlers. It adds another layer of strategy (and I guess complexity) but it also gives a player so many more routes to take for points. I love the addition of commodities and how easy it is to get progress cards. These really help the game along. With so many ways to expand and get points, I sometimes have turns that I can get 4 points on. Great fun!

Settlers of Catan Board Game : Seafarers Of Catan   (View Game)
   Jon
Back in grad school, my buddies and I would play Settlers every weekend. We loved the game and so when this expansion came out we added it in and found that it was a great enhancement to the game. I particularly like the scenarios that allow you to explore and discover new oslands. The gold mines are a nice addition as well. Fun expansion that is easy to learn.

Settlers of Catan Board Game   (View Game)
   Jon
This is the game that started it all for me, that brought me past the world of Monopoly, Rummikub, and party games. Dice often mean randomness, but there is definitely strategy to this game - deciding where to place initial settlements and then expanding in the best way to build your empire. The game is excellently balanced so that you can usually do something with most hand combinations. If not, trading with the other players is what makes the game interactive. This will always be a classic and one of my favorites.

Thurn & Taxis   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a fun, light strategy game. At least that was my first impression. It is easy to teach but there are several layers of strategy that make this game appealing to both casual and heavy gamers. I like that opponents can't block your connections unless they take the card you want. But with three of each city in the deck, this is a pretty laid back game. Each turn you can choose one of 4 bonuses to use which can be very beneficial as you try to make your plan become a reality. Lots of ways to get points in the game which makes for a great time.

Dixit   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a fantastic party game and German game of the year. I always like to keep my game collection balanced to accomodate different types of game-players. This game is suited for fun, creative groups. Not a lot strategy here, just crazy descriptions of interesting pictures. Even though this is not a strategy game it is still challenging. You can't give a clue that is too hard or too easy. Fun game to play regardless of whether you win or lose.

Saint Petersburg Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
I am a huge fan of Saint Petersburg so I had to have this expansion. Actually this box contins two expansions. I have only played New Society so far but it will be a permanent edition to any game of Saint Petersburg from now on. I love the new type of worker, the balanced replacement cards and the new trading cards. This expansion adds enough to the game to make this a good buy and change up a great game to be even better.

Catan Histories: Settlers Of America - Trails To Rails   (View Game)
   Jon
I am a huge fan of Settlers of Catan. I was excited when this game was announced and I was not disappointed when I first played it. The game has the same feel as Catan but really only shares a few of the mechanics from its parent game. There is enough new stuff in this game to make it a must have for Catan fans. I particularly like how you must balance your city building with delivery of goods. You must keep a balanced approach to your development. Great game and highly recommended.

Tsuro   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a fun, quick board game and it plays up to 8. It actually gets more fun with more people. You have to be the "last man standing" on the board so your path can't take you off the board or run you into anybody else. One of the simplest games to teach and learn but a blast to play.

Ticket To Ride: Swiss (Switzerland) Map Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great map for 2 or 3 players. There are some great destination cards that connect countries instead of cities. You get a bonus depending on how far away the countries are. My wife and I really enjoy playing this when we don't have a gaming group to play with.

Ticket To Ride - Europe   (View Game)
   Jon
I chose to get this TTR game first because of the tunnels, ferries, and train stations. The tunnels make you get some backup cards in case the price goes up. The ferries make locomotives more valuable. The train stations give people a way out if they have been blocked in. That makes it a little more friendly for gateway gamers. Fun times!

Mille Bornes   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a classic card game that I remember playing as a kid. It is fun to try and sabotage your opponents' trip with a flat tire or out of gas. It is fun to get the safety cards that make you invincible to attacks. Build up enough mileage to win the trip (game) and have fun!

Pirates of the Caribbean Monopoly   (View Game)
   Jon
Monopoly is a great game. I know sometimes it gets a bad rap but I love playing it two-player with my brothers. I own 11 different themed versions and this is one of my favorites. If you love Pirates of the Caribbean and monopoly, this is a great combination!

High Society   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great card game. In classic Knizia fashion, the person who spent the most money is automatically out. This means you have to be conservative and bid for enough to win but not so much that you go broke. Another fun twist is that when the bad cards come out you have to bid to not take it. Fun bidding game with a fair amount of strategy to it.

Scotland Yard   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a classic game that I remember getting for Christmas 20 years ago. I still love it. It is one against the rest as you try and corner Mr. X. With the right group it can be a real challenge. The new version comes with a hat to hide Mr. X's eyes so no clues are given away. I love being Mr. X but it is not as easy as it looks.

Sequence   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great game that anyone can understand. My mother-in-law is a huge fan and it is one of the few games that she will play with us so that is a big plus. The Jacks make the game interesting with one-eyed jacks letting you remove an opponent's chip and two-eyed jacks being wild. It's a quick, fun family game.

Rook (Deluxe Edition)   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great trick-taking game where you and your partner have to make your bid. There are many variations but I like when the Rook card is the lwo trump. It can be challenging to keep track of how many of each color have been played and what high cardsare still in play. Great fun.

TransAmerica (includes Vexation expansion)   (View Game)
   Jon
This fun game is accessible to everyone. It plays quickly, is easy to teach, and even a bit educational. Once everyone connects to the same network it gets a little tense as you hope you get that one more turn to finish your connections. But someone else could beat you to it. I like that this game is cooperative and that you can't get blocked out.

Pass the Pigs   (View Game)
   Jon
This is essentially a dice game. But the fact that you are rolling plastic pigs makes it so hilarious. It also makes the dice favor certain positions over others. It's easiest to get a pig on its side but if you can get it leaning on its snout even better. It's fun to see the different positions but don't ever let them touch you oinker! Fun for the whole family because younger kids still enjoy rolling and being a part of things even if they can't score it themselves.

Pandemic On The Brink Expansion - 2013 Edition   (View Game)
   Jon
I was extremely happy with Pandemic but this expansion makes it even better. I like the new role cards, especially the generalist (5 actions) and the continment specialist (take a cube off a ciy for free). The new challenges are fun as well. Those purple cubes can be a problem as you race to save the world from mutation. Or face the challenge of a more virulent strain which is harder to cure. You won't be disappointed with this expansion if you like the original!

Pandemic - 2013 Edition   (View Game)
   Jon
With certain groups that I game with I always seem to win a lot. This cooperative game was the perfect solution. I enjoy playing against the game and having a team to play with. And for a somewhat complex game and strategy, it plays fairly quickly. Especially when you lose after one round. But that makes us want to play again. It is so fun to challenge the game and not want to stop until you've won. I highly recommend this game!

For Sale   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great, quick card game. I love the intense bidding when a good property like 28-30 comes out. The game stays fresh because you deal a card for each plaer to go in the middle for the bidding. Sometimes the numbers are close, sometimes spread out so you never know how much you might need to spend each round. In the second pahse I love the simultaneous reveal of the properties and the inevitable "I thought you were going to play your big one" or "I should have gone with my other property." It's just such a fun game that is quick to play and interactive. My friend's young daughter likes to watch us play because she enjoys all of the different artwork for the houses. Often she is rooting for someone to get a certain house. Family fun!

Saboteur   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great group game. You have to choose when to reveal whether you are a miner or a saboteur. Over several rounds you have to try and keep your poker face to get yourself ahead. It is a team game but you still want to be first on your team. Great bluffing fun!

San Juan   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great game that I think works well for two players or four. My wife and I enjoy a playing it together. I love the different ways you can build up your cards to gain points and privileges. I really enjoy the role choosing mechanism as it adds some strategy to the game so it is not about which cards you happen to draw. Highly recommended!

Say Anything   (View Game)
   Jon
This is such a fun party game. I like it a bit more than Apples to Apples because you can write down the answer you think fits instead of being limited to the cards in your hand. It is so much fun learning new things about people you think you know. It is also a good game to get to know new people. The questions that you get to ask in the game are excellently humorous.

Jenga   (View Game)
   Jon
How high can the tower be built? That depends on how rock solid the players' hands are. This is a game that the whole family can play, just be sure not to play on a wobbly table. That caused some difficulty a few times. I enjoy the tenseness each time someone has to take a piece out.

Five Crowns   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a fun family card game. You try to collect sets and runs. Each round is one card more and the number of cards tells you which number is wild. Too often a wild accidentally gets discarded much to my dismay. For a light card game this fits the bill!

Dominion: Alchemy Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
The addition of potions as a treasure cards make this game very interesting. My favorite attack card, the Familiar, is in this set. I also love the university which gives you a free card and actions. The box is smaller but there are some really great cards to add to the mix.

Dominion: Intrigue   (View Game)
   Jon
This stand alone expansion is great! I recommend it before the original set. I like the twist of having cards that are both Treasure/Vicotry or Action/Victory or Action/Treasure. I love the challenge of choosing the right combination of cards at the right pace that will lead to victory. The learning curve is not as bad as it might appear so the game is pretty accessible with a good amount of strategy. My wife and I love it.

Dominion   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great game! It kind of scratches my old Magic the Gathering itch without having to collect individual cards - just a one time purchse of a box of cards. My wife loved it which makes it even more fantastic. The game is different each time depending on the set of kingdom cards that come out. Throw in a few expansions and the combinations are almost endless. I love trying to build up the winning combination of cards.

High Bohn Plus (bohnanza Exp)   (View Game)
   Jon
This is such a great addition to Bohnanza! I love how the buildings make you prioritize the type of beans you want to harvest. It makes decisions even tougher. I like the intnesity of getting to my favorite buildings before the rest of the table does. The bonuses are fantastic.

Bohnanza   (View Game)
   Jon
This is one of my very favorite card games. I love the interaction that it takes to trade and bargain with others. Sometimes you just have to donate cards to others in this set collection game because there are tough rules that limit the number of sets you can have. I love the artwork and quality of the cards as well.

Incan Gold   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a great game! It plays up to 8 and is easy to learn. If you like the element of risk then you'll love the gamble of defying the odds to get a pile of treasure to yourself. The addition of artifacts in this new version adds another strategic element to the game. It is fast to play but everyone usually wants to play again. Great components in the Gryphon version.

Coloretto (English Version)   (View Game)
   Jon
I love this little filler card game. It is a set collection game, but most likely there will be one or two people collecting the same color as you. You can choose to take cards for your self or try and draw something good. But if you draw you ahve to wait until your next turn to get it. There is tension as you watch for your colors to stay out and hope that opponents don't take them or spoil the group with a color you don't need. Great game!

Balderdash   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a game for the creative mind. Everyone is trying to make up the wackiest definition to an obscure word, the most convoluted plot to a movie title, the funniest fit to initials, or the zaniest laws that are actually in the books around the world. This game is great for laughs!

Make 'N' Break Extreme   (View Game)
   Jon
I love the Make 'n' Break games. In this game you are stacking and arranging brightly colored pieces that are not just rectangles like the original game. You have to think quickly and move fast but steady. The timer is audible so you feel the pressure to go as fast as you can. This is such a fun game to play with a group. Kids love it too and sometimes just get it out to try on their own.

Time's Up! Deluxe (10th Anniversary)   (View Game)
   Jon
This is such a fun couples/party game. You get three rounds which consist of using any words you want, then a single word, and then not words at all. Try to guess the famous person or character each time. It's a riot!

Rage Card Game   (View Game)
   Jon
This was the family game growing up and we still love to play it. We remind each other that the name of the game is Rage becuase it can get a little heated when we play minus points cards on someone else or steal their trick. Or the rage boils up when the trump color can change just when you think you have taken the trick. The unpredictablility is what really makes this game fun!

Money   (View Game)
   Jon
This is a fun set collection game. Since you can only choose one of two groups to add to your hand it is often a tough choice. But that's assuming you outbid everyone else to get first choice. Each person has a bluff card which they can use to make their bid seem larger. Fun game, quick to play and teach. I even found myself trying to figure out the countries that matched each currency.

Killer Bunnies-Quest Magic Carrot-Violet Box Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
This expansion gives you the maximum number of carrots for the game, allowing the game to go a little bit longer so the mayhem can continue. It doesn't feel to much longer becuase the new cards make things move along. The specialty bunnies give more ways to play more cards. Have fun recognizing all of the references to pop culture.

Killer Bunnies-Quest for Magic Carrot-Twilight White Box Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
The game just keeps getting better with each expansion. A few more pawns, some wicked weapons, and some more cool cards like the White Stuff. At this point I am hooked and just have to have the complete game with all of the expansions. No significant changes to learn, just new cards to make the game more crazy and fun.

Killer Bunnies-Quest for Magic Carrot-Orange Box Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
This is my favorite expansion to the killer bunnies series becuase of the pawns. Pawns are the best because you can reroll the dice of the same color, it counts towards a bunny triple of its color, and lets you play some of the best cards twice. Pawns are by far the best addition to the game in all of the expansions. Of course, you have to get all of the expansions so they can work together. What a great game!

Killer Bunnies-Quest for Magic Carrot-Green Box Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
The zodiac cards are just another fun twist to the killer bunnies universe to try and get ahead. I love the details that the designers put into the cards and the forethought into making all of these expansions mesh together. And how cool is a game where a kitchen whisk can kill a bunny? This game is so crazy but that's why I love it!

Killer Bunnies: Wacky Khaki Booster Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
The crazy game of killer bunnies just keeps getting better and better. Picture being able to play both your run cards and then two cards from your hand. That can happen if you get a triple and you have the highest enlisted and officer ranks. I love this game because there are so many ways you can build yourself up while tearing down your opponents.

Killer Bunnies: Ominus Onyx Booster Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
There are some wicked cards in this expansion. It really puts the killer in killer bunnies. The mysterious place cards are really fun and reveal more connections that the designers had in mind the whole time. Get that yellow ball and you can control some of the cards your opponents have or play. This final expansion is a must have to complete the Killer Bunnies experience.

Killer Bunnies: Stainless Steel Booster Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
Super Bunnies are the bomb! Of course they are a big target for the rest of the table to try and take out.. But that's what is so great about killer bunnies - making enemies. This expansion adds so much the the game.

Killer Bunnies Perfectly Pink Booster Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
If you thought red bunnies were cool, wait until you see the pink ones. Each has a similar ability to the red ones but more powerful. Throw in the rank cards and you can play 3 cards per turn if you are lucky! It isn't true Killer Bunnies without this expansion.

Killer Bunnies-Quest for Magic Carrot-Red Box Expansion   (View Game)
   Jon
Red bunnies are the best! If you like the base game you'll love this expansion. You can buy defense units from the new store to protect yourself from your pesky neighbors. The red bunnies all have special abilities which come in very handy. A must have for any Killer Bunnies fan.

Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot   (View Game)
   Jon
This is such a wacky game but so much fun. Sometimes you need a break from heavy strategy. I love the creative card ideas and pop culture references. I especially love launching weapons at my opponent's bunnies. It is always fun even if I don't end up with the magic carrot.

Ingenious (English version of Einfach Genial)   (View Game)
   Jon
This abstract strategy game is simple enough to teach anyone. Its durable and colorful components make for a quality addition to any collection. I've played with ages 8 and up and everyone seems to love it as much as I do. It is a blast to take a turn that gives you 15 points with one tile.

Too Many Cooks   (View Game)
   Jon
Tired of the usual trick-taking games? This game from my favorite designer adds some twists that really make for a fun game. You can only make each soup once so the challenge is to take each hand and play it to your benefit - or deny your opoonents points while giving them chilis. Fun game!

Lost Cities: The Board Game   (View Game)

This game has a good balance of strategic decision making combined with racing against your opponents to get to the artifacts. You can't wait to long to commit your expedition or the deck will run out. The game is simple in its mechanics so it is easy to teach and learn. Great game for any group.

You can see the disasters coming! You know what you need but competing with others to get it makes for a great game. There are a lot of tough decisions as you decide which workers to take in your temples and how to best use your resources. Turn order changes depending on how many people you have working for you so build up wisely!

This is such a fun game! There is so much tension when you have to choose - take over the role or say "So be it!" to get the lesser reward. This is such an interactive game and with enough randomness to play well with any group. It is one of my favorites!

Ticket to Ride: Europa 1912 Expansion   (View Game)

This is just the breath of fresh air that TTR: Europe needed. I really love the Big Cities variant and the Depots addition as well. It has made for a little bit more tension and conflict but really improves upon an already great game. It is nice to sit down to play and have several different options to choose from. The depots work with all of the other TTR games too!

It is great that this game is available again. My wife and I love to play this board and enjoy the different colored trains with the winter theme. I find it more challenging than TTR Switzerland but love having two options for smaller groups.

This game is a riot! I played it first by a farm in Idaho and just had to have it. Investing in Fruit or Livestock can pay off but beware the Farmer's Fate.

Ths was my first game in the series on the recommendation of a friend. He was right about it being an easy game to learn and a fun way to become more familiar with Europe. My wife and I play this when we want a fun, quick game. We love it.

First, let me just say that the quality of the components and the packaging are worth the slightly higher investment in this game. The artwork and durability is amazing. The game is easy to teach and plays well. You take actions on each person's turn so you are always involved. A great mix of tactics and luck.

Dominion: Seaside Expansion   (View Game)

I absolutely love Dominion. I love that my wife enjoys Dominion. This is the best exapnsion so far to the series. The duration cards are awesome! There are some cards that put a great spin on my favorites from the original. I could almost do without the base set now.

This is a great game! I love the challenge of keeping a fine balance of building income and acquiring buildings and nobles for points. It really can come down to just one or two rubles. Every time I play it I feel like I learn a little more depth about it. Can't wait to try the expansion!

I love this game! There is enough strategy and thought to the game that I tell people you have to know what you are doing to win. But there is a little bit of randomness so that the same person won't win every time. I love the chance in this game to get at your opponents - it is a good feeling to put a lava tile over their person so you can throw it into the volcano. We even make a little sound effect as we do so. Highly recommended!

Can't Stop *ND   (View Game)

If you like the element of risk and pushing your luck, you definitely would like this game. The name fits it perfectly as so many turns I find myself unable to stop. It is just as fun to try and convince your opponents to keep rolling as well, with the hopes that they will bust. Great quality components make this a good deal!

This is a great game to play with my nieces, nephews, and my friends kids. As a math teacher, I am also pleased to see kids working with simple addition. Of course, they don't realize it because they are just trying to get the best queens. Fun game to play with the kids.

I admittedly got this game to complete my set of the Gryphon Bookshelf Series. My wife and I played it and thought it was a great 2-player game. Then I recently took it on my vacation and my family just loved it. I love the different paths to victory and look forward to playing with the improved scoresheet that is free online. Much more interactive than I thought a dice game could be.

This is a hit with the whole family! The concept is simple enough for some of the younger crowd to play and have fun. But there are tough decisions in the game that create tension enough for the adults to have a blast. Just when you think you have a solid win, the others do the impossible and push the balloon up to Colud 9! Great game.

Sometimes it is fun to set the strategy games aside and play something just for fun. This dexterity game has become a hit with my non-gamer friends. We have a lot of laughs and because of games like this we have been able to open them up to other games. I love how the patterns in this game are so close that you have to be careful. We get some tense rounds as everyone waits to reach for the totem. Fun family game!

Cartagena Ii (Cartagena 2)   (View Game)

I loved the original Cartagena but when I went to buy it, I had the choice between the original and this game Cartagena 2. I was glad with my choice of the second game. It moves a little more quickly because to draw cards you have to move opponents further along the board rather than move yourself backwards. You have to watch carefully to take advantage of chains of covered symbols and try to disrupt those chains so your opponents can't use them. A good mix of strategy and planning. Very accesible for families and a lot of fun!

No Thanks! (English version of Geschenkt and No Merci)   (View Game)

This is such a fun game that most anyone can learn and play in about 20 minutes. You don't want high numbers but you need chips to be able to pass on a card. I love sending a high card around the table to milk people out of chips. This doesn't make very many friends but it sure is fun.

This is my favorite strategy game by far. I love the challenge of balancing money, influence markers, and fending off the plague-spreading rats. It kills me to pass some of my good cards to my opponent but I enjoy trying to make the best choice to maximize my game. And you never know what your neighbor will pass you. This card-drafting mechanism makes it a lot of fun. Once you get the rules down, you can play a serious game in under an hour. Check out the Rio Grande Treasure Chest for a good expansion.

I have been collecting this whole Gryphon bookshelf series and this was one of the last ones we tried out. We loved it so much and wish we had tried it sooner. My parents love it and they are not big gamers. I love making someone put a gem back after they think they have it locked up with the wild 10 card. We usualy have to play several rounds after we get it out.

I was given this game as a gift and knew nothing about it beforehand. It has become one of my favorite games now. It plays well with two and four (haven't tried 3 or 5 yet). You have to decide when to get points from remodeling, furnishing, or guests. There is actually quite a bit of influence you have on your opponents. Do you take a coin to help build your cash flow - but lowers prices for the others? Do you store the one piece of furniture your opponent has been waiting for in your attic? Who will be the first one to claim that bonus tile? There are a few mini expansions that can be printed from online too! Great game!

Archaeology: The Card Game   (View Game)

This is a great little card game that gets a lot of playing time. I like it because it plays very well with two so my wife and I can play a quick game or two when we get the game-plying itch. It is also fun with 4 players. It has an element of risk as you debate whether to try for a bigger collection or play it safe against the sandstorms. It seems like everyone we teach ends up picking up their own copy.
